|Hopefully these will stick around...
- Drop the profanity
Lately I've been using four-letter-words fairly often. Additionally, I've been thinking JESUS! when I encounter something particularly alarming (which can be up to twice daily). There's no excuse for this, and I'm not sure where I picked up the habit from (being the internet, this could've been anywhere), but it has to stop. Now. To reinforce this, I've gone back over my userpics (all 157 of them) and replaced the ones that contain profanity with similar ones that do not.
- Trim off the fat
Over the course of 2009 my diet became steadily worse. This needs changing quickly. Less eating out, and when we do eat out I'll avoid the super high fat items like the pasta salad or sesame chicken (both are over 20g of fat per cup). It's not worth getting sick, and I've obviously reached the brink with the troubles I've had in the last two months.
- Stop sweating the big stuff
One of the main things that prevented Playpen from going anywhere last year was a fanatical amount of OCD over numbers: particularly the amount of CPU being used and file sizes. Neither of these really matter. Look at the GP2X and Wiz; these are handheld game consoles. The Wiz has 1,000 MB of space for files and 64 MB of RAM. The typical game for it is 5 MB. Remember that this is JUST a handheld; your typical desktop computer has 4,000 MB of RAM and hundreds of thousands of MB of hard disk space! Also, broadband is taking over so much that my ISP killed their dial-up side. People regularly download thousands of MB of files. I was getting upset over having my files being more than 1 MB. I really need to loosen up on this front.
