|Today was the biweekly shopping. The main trick to it this time was getting stuff that actually fit on the diet rather than just getting what sounded good. As a result we ended up spending far less than normal and it only took two trips to get everything in the apartment.
When we got home from shopping, two of the local geese were wandering around near the entrance we use. We waited for them to move on instead of challenging them.
I spent most of the evening redoing the roguelike's code. Once again I'd abstracted things a wee bit too far. While it would be very easy to add new features, it would be slow when actually run.
All of the interesting things I found online today share a common theme: wacky police reports. The first item is a bizarre call from a Bishop under siege. Apparently there's some good stuff in the communion wine.
Next is a 911 call made by a four year old boy. He needs help with his math.
The next guy showed a similar level of smarts by "joking" that he was from Al-Qaeda at the airport. Taint funny, McGee.
Lastly there's the mystery of the stone heads. Someone has been leaving carved stone heads on doorsteps. The Times Online thinks they have the mystery solved. Some think it has to do with werewolves, others think it's a curse, but apparently it's just a hermit spamming people with stone.
