|Today wasn't particularly interesting. Don't get me wrong, interesting days tend to be the annoying ones.
Today's links are:
Some soused person on an airline didn't like waiting for "lesser" passengers to debark and let himself out.
Sometimes things don't need to be pimped or improved. case in point.
Behind the cut below is an overview of the status of all of my projects, feel free to skip.
While the console version is ready to go for all OSes, the GUI version is stuck. This is mainly because I've been focusing on other projects. I may simply launch the console version on its own and follow up with the GUI version sometime later on.
Most of my efforts recently have been going towards optimizing Din. Unfortunately optimization obeys the law of diminishing returns. After a point, there's no way to make the program faster. So I need to work on other details, namely function support, completing the run time library and getting the documentation completed.
A prototype of the game's world exists, but it's just notes beyond there.
There's a prototype of the game's world generation code, but naught much beyond that.
Since Phoenix and Din are related to an extent, there's some spill over between projects. At this point I'm not sure if the core of this project will end up as a library or as a compiled in unit. I also need to test ideas with GTK.
At the moment this project is shelved. Lazarus isn't ready for serious use, and without Lazarus' toolkit this project is pretty much sunk. It's possible that Project Phoenix may be able to step in and take over Lazarus' role, but I'm not going to plan on this.
A major redo of this project is planned but hasn't actually started yet. This is mostly because the time and energy went to Din instead.
Fur and Faith
While I'm still tossing about ideas for a possible resurrection of the site I'm undecided about its future. Currently it's just a link farm, and perhaps that's all that is needed of it. I do have at least one link to add to it though.
Currently shelved. Naturally this is because other projects (namely Din) are on the front burners. That's the only hold up, but it's a biggie.
Also shelved. Also, Lazarus is actually capable of handling the difficult part of this project. Unfortunately most of this project will have to be redone, so it's practically a new project.
