|I spent my day working with Necros Cavern's GUI port. After a few tangled attempts at getting started I decided to start by porting the 1.0 RC1 GUI code to Lazarus. Since Lazarus' windowing toolkit hides all of the dirty raw API from the coder, there's a lot of translation to do. Most of the window-specific code is already translated, but the other units currently only supply dummy functions to ensure everything compiles.
In the early afternoon I started having trouble with keys ignoring that they've been pressed. This makes it rather hard to type at all. So I fished around in my desk looking for something that might be able to clean the keyboard. I found what looks like a miniature toilet brush, and used it to clean the keyboard. I withdrew a spare cat and then some. Now all of the keys work as expected.
Little One was fascinated with the little brush. I also accidently shut the drawer on his tail at one point; he must have flicked it into the drawer just as I closed it. At any rate no harm done, just a startled cat.
There's a bad storm bearing down on us, and since I'm already tired I'm just going to turn in early, settle down and watch the funnels.
