Order arrives
Posted on June 11th, 2008
I spent my day being very productive. Three of the GBC games I ordered on Amazon arrived today. My computer has been in need of a good defrag, so I decided to take the opportunity and spend the day saving the princess and/or planet while the computer sorts itself out. As a general rule I defragment when more than 5 files are chopped into 200+ fragments. In this case, there were enough files that fragmented to surpass the three figure mark. It took some time to defrag, but in the meantime I've unlocked just about everything in Super Mario Bros Deluxe and I've made good headway into Crystalis.

I've heard that the GBC port of Crystalis is inferior to the NES version. Since I now have both, I can honestly say that yes, that is the case indeed. The soundtrack is completely different, most of the puzzles are dumbed down (sometimes severely), and the weapon immunity system works a little different. Overall both versions have strengths and weaknesses that the other compensates for or fixes.

In the end I actually was somewhat productive today. I've figured out and designed a fair amount for both Project Metal and Project Gold. I had some name ideas, but in both cases a Google search tossed them out.

Lastly, for a good laugh read the Wikipedia article about Lifetime: television for women getting brutalized, raped and murdered cause women like to watch other women get brutalized, raped and murdered.
