|Much of mom's day was spent talking on the phone as two of my three brothers called. My day was largely spent fussing with the virtual machines in a frustrating effort to get them to talk more directly with the real computer.
I also managed to code myself into a corner working with Din. It's not exactly a case of being cornered though; it's more of a case of finding the code tied in a knot.
From the phone conversations I have some idea of how two of my sisters-in-law spent Mother's day.
One had gastric bypass surgery and was found to have a gum disease, so all of her teeth were pulled via local anesthetic.
The other spent the day in bed, however it seems her daughter as Autism.
Neither are particularly fun ways to spent the holiday.
Mom and I simply watched Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in much the same manner as the cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 watches any movie. Naturally I had to move my computer to the living room as mom's DVD player wouldn't play the DVD. At this point, I'm rather convinced that the DVD player is busted. It hasn't played the last several DVDs, yet they've all worked on our computers.
In other news, my dyed-in-the-wool Republican brother is seriously debating about voting for Obama if he wins the Democrat ticket. Frankly, that beats anything I found online today.
Just about everything I looked at online today were technical sites that are pretty damn boring but ultimately useful, much like school textbooks.
The one exception was that I found the trailer for Psycho on YouTube.
