Tinkering machines

Mom's friend stopped over right about the time I was fixing lunch. The visit was fairly short. We now know what her apartment number is, and exactly where in the building the apartment is. I neglected to mention that she ended up not going for the apartment mentioned earlier. There's a better apartment opening up in one of the other buildings in the complex, and that's the one she'd decided on.

I spent the afternoon poking at the various virtual machines. Using a CD image, I transfered the Black Box style I'm using to the Linux virtual machine and set it up. Now it's a window-in-a-window effect when that vm is running.

After some experimentation I've figured out how to make the Linux vm see the external hard drive and the FreeDOS virtual hard drive. Since FreeDOS can't see either the net nor the external drive the only way to get anything off that virtual hard drive is to have another virtual machine at as middle man.

Late this evening I was getting out my CDs to copy some stuff to the computer when I made a disturbing discovery: there was a spider amongst the discs!

Smashy Smashy.

On a fluffier note here's the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee's blog.

Lastly here's a kitten sneaking up on a Fennec fox
