|Not a day goes by without an errand it seems. In this case an errand in the rain and thunder.
Today began with a trip to Wal*Mart. In the parking lot we ran into the building's administrator. We talked for a bit, and as he was getting in his truck he asked for a little help buying a plant for his apartment. By "a little help" I mean "could you buy one for me". He doesn't know plants, and mom's a rather seasoned gardener. We didn't find anything worth a darn at Wal*Mart other than the hamper another friend asked up to pick up.
Naturally we visited the garden center for the admin's plant. It also follows that we picked up his plant and a bunch of plants for the balcony.
We also made a stop at the bank and the grocery store. The bank was having a "customer appreciation day", and thus had cookies, hot dogs and other fare for customers. Mom and I each had a cookie. We picked up lunch (Lean Cuisine grilled sandwiches) at the grocery store and then headed home.
The trip was rather taxing; we got home around 2:30 PM.
Around 3:30 PM I went and picked up the mail. The programming book was in there. As thunderstorms continued the rest of the day I just read the entire 109 page book. Frankly I can see why a $30 book was offered for $8. While there was some new and useful stuff in its pages, a lot of the book deals with script-kiddie stupid.
I managed to get two links for today. One I discovered yesterday after posting the entry and the other was found late this evening.
When 900 bucks you spend, get one of these you can!
In far more bizarre news, a seal groinked a penguin. You don't even see that on Furry sites!
