||Super Shopping Saturday
Posted on February 2nd, 2008
|Today mom and I went and did the second half of the shopping. The first thing we did was visit the local Italian restaurant for lunch. We then proceeded to make a number of quick stops en route from the restaurant to the grocery store.
One of these stops was the local health food store. Oddly enough, they don't carry health food anymore; they just carry supplements and gourmet pet food. So much for that store.
We also stopped at the CVS for a number of odd things, notably a half dozen Cadbury eggs. Yes, Easter candy is out at that place.
The front of the grocery store was peppered with men attempting to shop on their own. After all, it's Superbowl Sunday and a man needs proper fixins. Among the things we picked up was some deli BBQ boneless wings for tomorrow's lunch.
The remainder of my day was spent messing with my various projects or reading stuff at a wiki I ran across earlier.
Six things to click on in this post:
First off, here's a "Link" to the Legend of Zelda Wiki. More than you ever wanted to know about your Like Like. Or stuff to screw with your head like the fact that "Bow Wow" is owned by Madam MeowMeow. Peter Venkman was right about Koholint.
Next is a simple and somber animation about a Piano.
The other video for the day features a dancing horse and I'm not talking about Tonya Harding.
Next up are two tests and a Wikipedia page on a subject fan-fiction and original fiction authors and readers know all too well. Namely, Mary Sues.
If you are unaware of what a Mary Sue is, please read this Wikipedia article about the trend. The two main problems with Mary Sues are that only the author wants to read about them and they shine a spotlight on the author's mental health problems.
Here are two tests to see if a character of yours appears to be a Mary Sue. Note that in most cases nearly everything is checked if the character is a Sue.
The latter produces more verbose results.
