|Today revolved around the messy details of KupierHack's innards. I've finally figured out how to implement the game's interface, though this design probably moves the game out of the roguelike genre. It's a rather odd, but simple idea. The game's interface will be a cross between adventure titles like ADVENT or ZORK and the single key commands of Nethack and Rogue.
If you're aiming to tell a story, then the scrolling text of ADVENT and similar games is a better choice than the textmode graphics seen in more slash 'em up dungeon crawls.
KupierHack is supposed to be about exploration, not combat. That said, YASD will definitely apply. If you aren't wearing life support gear, leave the ship's hatch shut mmm'kay?
Tomorrow looks to be rather busy as the carpet cleaners are going to pop in at some point and we need to run a few errands as soon as we can.
