The fun continues
Posted on September 24th, 2012
The big event of the day was the biweekly shopping. This went relatively okay, though I spent the morning grouchy and every little thing seemed to step on what little nerve I had remaining.

Part of the reason for that was that when I went to boot my computers this morning, one of them wouldn't turn on. It was the one I'd used to fuss with the battery during the power frequency hoopla the other day; at one point it was plugged into the wall (for reasons I don't remember) and it seems the power brick is fried. Now keep in mind that while the UPSs were having a complete fit over the power fluctuating, no lights were flickering nor was there any indication that anything was actually wrong, hence why I didn't have concerns about plugging it in unprotected.

The thing that really bothers me about this is that the machine was running fine when it was shutdown. In other words, the power brick fried AFTER the computer was shutdown and plugged back into the battery, not WHILE it was plugged in to the wall. I'd left my computers off for the rest of the night as the UPS's battery was drained after two and a half hours of flipping on and off, so I simply hadn't turned them back on until this morning.

The loss of that computer isn't terribly big in and of itself, it's just another frustration during a bad spell.

Most of my evening was spent playing Minecraft or Castleville as I'm still kinda worn from the other night's poor sleep. I did do some prototype code and think about things that I need to do, so it's not a total waste of a weekday.

In other news, have some Pony-fu.
