|I think most of the day was spent trying to get a tutorial for DBHL completed. The plan for it didn't work, nor did the next few rewrites. I think I finally have a solution, but it was getting too late to continue trying.
Part of the day was also spent fussing over the second Tumblr idea, though with mixed results. While I ran into problems with the model and eventually got them resolved, it ended up not really working for what I was going for. I'm used to making things look cute and/or appealing, so making something that is obviously evil isn't quite as easy.
I spent the end of the day doing a little research to resolve this. Mostly I read a lot of stuff on TV Tropes about evil robots and that lead me to the uncanny valley. Apparently the best way to convey evil is conveyed by make it inhuman, yet human. One idea that came to mind was a short from an old Anime I've seen a hundred times, so I searched it out on YouTube and watched the sequence again to look for ideas. Naturally, Japanese horror does provide some examples of making stuff genuinely unsettling. So now I have a number of ideas.
Speaking of things that are truly evil, there is a problem with the war.
