|Today turned out to be a busy one.
I spent most of the afternoon revamping the guts of DBHL and checking the pages. The main reason for tweaking the working of the site's scripts was to make it easier to maintain. The other reason for giving the site a once-over was that I discovered that the way I've been spell checking things isn't working for some reason. It apparently hasn't worked for some time, so I just re-checked every page with a WORKING method and uploaded the corrected pages.
During the evening I practiced drawing with the tablet, though the results weren't that hot. On the plus side I think I've figured out how to reliably get GIMP to recognize the thing.
Slightly later in the evening, I baked up another batch of pebber nodder. I figure we spent a fortune on the spices, why not use them?
A little bit ago I had a sudden bit of inspiration for dealing with the problem of the userpics. I spent some time checking around the web for some legal points I need to cover, and then spent a little time coding the solution. In a nutshell, I'll just remake most of the userpics using legally obtained images and provide credit for them on the pages where they appear. I'll get started on that tomorrow. It won't be hard to replace everything this way.
Lately, the link for the day is a news article about a debate that proved a wee bit more interesting than anybody expected.
