|Today I mainly wanted to get the next comic done. This was a tad important seeing as how the next comic I needed to do was the comic for Monday the 13th! It was wrapped up a little after lunch time.
After that, it was time to focus on the Steam contest. The next round of objectives was here, so I quickly went about earning them. One of the was simply earning a score higher than a given number in a game I already had, so that was easy enough. Another was to give a friend a game. I opted to send my friend Daniel a copy of Chime, as it's a fun puzzler I think he'd like and a portion of the proceeds from that game go to charity.
To my surprise, he later responded by buying me a copy of Delve Deeper, one of the games on my wishlist that's the same price as Chime!
The other objective I completed this round was via a game that I've been wondering about. Left 4 Dead 2 has been getting lots of praise, but I wasn't sure about the single player mode. Today it's on sale for 75% off, so I asked about it on the forums. After getting several positive answers to my questions, I bought it.
It took about 4 hours to download. In the meantime I watched the rest of that anime I found yesterday and watched a handful of Zero Punctuation reviews.
It took some time, but I managed to complete the objective. Now to see how to go about disabling the blood and gore. It's not a gorefest, but it'd be nice to clean it up a little.
Took some digging around the net as the expected tweaks don't work in L4D2, but I found the solution. if'n anyone's curious, you disable the gore by setting the launch option to -lv.
The other news for today is that there's a nasty storm headed our way, so Pov's vet appointment tomorrow has been canceled.
Lastly, here's a classic web animation that makes the rounds every year: I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
