Of vampires and comics
Posted on December 12th, 2010
So my main goal for the day was to get some work done on comics and get both the blog and the development corner running on the new system. I wrote out a few scripts and drew most of the next comic during the afternoon.

During the morning browsing I ran across a picture on one of the galleries I follow that made me pause. It was a hilarious animated gif of a wolf-girl. That site helpfully provides information about the images it shows, so I was able to see what character from what show I was looking at. I did a little searching and found out more about this show.

When I saw the tagline of "This is to fantasy as Galaxy Angel is to science fiction", I knew HAD to find it online. I tried my old standby for streaming Anime, and they didn't have it. So I poked around and found it on another service, but that played really choppy, the sound was very out of sync and it froze at points. In the end I searched around a little more and found that some nice person had uploaded the entire series to YouTube.

Well, now you know what I did all evening. It's a hilariously cute and happy show about a group of monster girls (vampire, werewolf, android, witch) and their inability to manage every day life in modern Japan. For an example of how fun this show is, consider the episode where the vampire falls in love with the guy running the local blood drive.

The full name is Renkin 3-kyu Magical? Pokan. Since that is a bit of a mouthful, it's popularly known as Magipoka.

Speaking of Japan, today's link of the day hails from there. exercise videos this bizarre couldn't possibly have come from anywhere else.
