Learning curves
Posted on August 16th, 2010
I spent the day working on comics and fonts. One of the things I've found about making fonts is that it's very tedius and time consuming. In an hour and a half I only covered A-Q (upper case only) and there are errors preventing it from compiling into a TTF. But I'm learning the tool quickly enough. I can see why people charge $50+ for these things.

DFO was nearly dead today. Apparently most of the player base has gone back to school. This'll make the auction house awful quiet, so I dunno if the auction license will pay off or not.

As for the BM report, things seem to have quieted down for me but we hear our friend spent the weekend on the pot. Thus it's clearly a bug that's being passed around.

In other news, we seem to be experiencing brown outs. They don't last very long, as they aren't long enough to kill the modem or the clocks, but they are long enough to cause the lights to dim and my fan to slow. Also, the unstable computer in the basement was TKO'd earlier and had to be revived, probably due to the power failing.

The cause of the brown outs is likely to be people's air conditioning. It's kinda hot out here lately. Of course, someone figured out how to take advantage of all of the hot cars...
