Testing concepts

I spent a large chunk of the day trying out some of the things I've been reading about in the Flash documentation that I picked up. I've read through most of the first book, and had a reasonable idea of what I've been doing wrong (most of it) and how to do things right. Although it took some trial and error, I managed to make a small demo program that uses a number of the things the book talked about.

In addition to the fact that this little program runs correctly using several different players, it also works on the GP2X Wiz's Flash Player.

Most of the evening was spent playing Free Realms. There was also an interesting news article posted to the game's homepage today. It seems that they are now offering lifetime memberships, and that anyone that has paid for a year's subscription (which would be me) will have their account upgraded to a lifetime membership for no charge! There's a $10 difference between the year's subscription and the lifetime account purchase price. It would be sweet, but probably unrealistic, to have that difference added to our accounts as Station Cash.

On the subject of unrealistic hopes, remember that auction where someone is selling their character? No bids yet.

Today's link of the day is a story of a cat that nearly lost one of his nine lives but now furthers science.
