Steam running low
Posted on July 2nd, 2010
I was going to quietly spend the day working on comics. However, about halfway through the first comic I ran out of steam. With both motivation and energy gone, I decided against pushing and just took the rest of the day off.

I primarily spent the afternoon and evening playing Guild Wars. I was trying different builds and progressing the game's storyline. One of the things I discovered (to my dismay) was that my character wasn't having much of an impact on the battles. At one point I just kept back and directed the henchmen from a distance. They defeated foes with roughly the same speed as when I was thwaping bad guys with them.

As a result, I've created a new character, a Monk. I had more of a direct role when I in the back directing the henchmen and healing them despite the fact that my character was a Warrior, and Warriors are not designed to use magic. This new character will mostly use magic. Who knows. If I get particularly good at this, I may wind up in PvP as a Monk.

The link for the day is a story from back in April that adds another item to the list of reasons to be afraid of flying.
