||So, where's the thunder?
Posted on May 13th, 2010
|Today was supposed to be another round of severe thunderstorms, starting at 10 AM. Well, that came and went. Nothing happened. We did take the time to prepare for tornadoes by setting up food, water and litter for the cats in the basement. We also setup and tuned the portable radio to the local stations.
With the forecast now showing severe weather during the afternoon through tomorrow, I played Guild Wars and answered a few emails while I waited for the storms to come. They didn't.
Again, the thunder was rolled back, now it was supposed to reach us at 10 PM. It's 11 PM now and not a drop of rain in sight.
I spent the evening playing Guild Wars, waiting for thunder that never showed up.
In other news, I started a Guild Wars: Factions character (shown in the new userpic natch). My other characters are from Prophecies. These are two different stories told in the same world; they take place on different continents and at different times. However, the storage feature allows you to pass gold and supplies between characters regardless of campaigns. I understand that Factions provides more gold and experience than either of the other two campaigns I have, and so I'm planning on looting one corner of the world while fighting to save another.
Interestingly, the first city of Factions has all of the trimmings. There's a very short tutorial at the beginning, but unlike Prophecies you're straight into the action. Some features found in that city aren't found until much later on in Prophecies.
