|Yesterday was rather busy. I did some work on the abstraction layer, ultimately running into a problem and getting stuck. I also assisted with more laundry during the afternoon.
During the afternoon many of the games I recently purchased arrived. I spent a good two hours getting them installed and running -- it wasn't going well for a few of them.
All of these titles require their CD to play, which I find rather annoying. After they copy tons of data to the hard drive the CD shouldn't be needed anymore. Fortunately, Freakazoid over at UF pointed me to a place where you can get modded versions of the game files to bypass that little problem (note that you still need a legal copy to install it).
During the evening I worked on retagging my MP3s using MusicBrainz. This took awhile as several didn't match up quite right.
Later in the evening I played YMCA on AudioSurf for a bit of a surprise: my version lasts 8 minutes, but the version everyone else was using lasts 4. This means my score is quite a bit higher than everyone else's. This gaff highlights one of the problems of AudioSurf's scoreboard: different versions of a song aren't separated into different scoreboards, putting big holes in the fair play idea.
The link of the day for yesterday was Rammstein VS Cookie Monster.
