Don't light a match

I had chili with a generous amount of Tabasco for lunch and as a result have been a human bioweapon today. During lunch I was talking to mom about yesterday's fight, and she opined that the actual problem was the programming I couldn't get to work and the hostility was just displacement. I'll buy that.

Early in the day I happened to remember a trick that aids diagnosing problems with software, and used it to find out why that code didn't work under the GP2X. After some experimentation I discovered that the GP2X lacks support for floating point numbers. They work for Pascal because it builds the required supporting code into the program, but not for C because it depends on external libraries for the majority of its functions. So C is officially out of the running for the GP2X development. Floating point operations are required for some of the programs I'm planning.

During the afternoon mom and I got to talking about eating out. With her lactose intolerance, she effectively bought me a $36 sandwich yesterday. Both of us felt that was a rip off. After a little discussion it was decided to have the budget handle eating out instead of our allowances. As a perk, both of us got paid back for the times we bought lunch in January. I spent some of it on two tiny Transformers I'd forgotten about; mind you I still come up a good $30+ ahead, so I'm still on track for the major purchase in April or May.

The rest of my day was spent working out ideas while poking around online. I spent a large amount of time skimming the archives of a mailing list I occasionally visit and forwarding a lot of classic jokes around. Much of my time was spent on TV Tropes gathering ideas for my comic's next storyline.

Lastly, enjoy some cute cats
